You may be wondering what the benefits of handmade vs. store bought soap are. After all, handmade soaps are more expensive than store bought soap. So, why should you spend the extra cash on handmade?

Handmade soap contains glycerin, a natural emollient (skin softener) that draws moisture to the skin. Store bought soap typically has the glycerin removed, thus also removing the moisturizing properties which can leave skin feeling dry.

Handmade soap doesn’t contain any chemical detergents, hardeners or synthetic lathering agents, which can be drying and irritating to the skin.

When you wash, you need a soap that will clean your skin without causing irritation! Bar soaps may be better than body washes for contact dermatitis patients — Chronic contact dermatitis often is tied to hidden allergens found in liquid and commercial soaps. This soap is made for sensitive skin with mild, gentle cleansers that don’t damage the skin’s natural moisturizing factors.

Glycerin soaps are super soft and moisturizing on the skin. Glycerin is a natural, water soluble, vegetable derived humectant and moisturizer which attracts and absorbs water molecules helping to draw and retain moisture to the skin.

Soaps can be left either inside package or outside, and usually keep for more than 1 year. If you start to notice the soaps sweating, that’s ok! It’s just collecting moisture from the air — totally normal! It goes away with running water.

All soaps come individually wrapped in plastic-sealed packaging with a sticker on it. If you’d like the soap wrapped with wax paper, just let me know and I can omit the plastic from your packaging.
